Two Hondas enter, but only one will remain in the MCM shed. Why 90s tuner cars are no more gaudy than any other era of modified cars
MOOG's new car (seen HERE) caused a lot of people to question the drugs car-builders were taking during the 1990s and early 2000s. However, this era of "show cars" is, arguably, no different to fads that previous generations went through as well. Thumping subs rattling brains (check MOOG's out HERE), gaudy paint work, crazy body kit modifications and questionably engineered mechanical upgrades - these are pretty much the foundation for any generation of show car, as these types of cars have always aimed to bring in attention from the wider public. While many of us remember the Auto Salon era...
How the heck do you turbo your car?
One of the most popular questions we get asked is, "why do MOOG's feet smell like lollies?" I can't answer that, but I can answer the 2nd most popular question: "how the heck do I turbo my maaad car?" For the sake of this article I'm going to keep the theories very simple. You can watch the full reveal HERE but basically the thing is a complete unicorn today, being almost factory-fresh. However, since then one question the boys are smashed with is "what's happening with MOOG's 180SX?" Well, he still owns it and plans to feature it on the show, so we sat down with Mr MOOG to find out a bit more... After your history with Taylor Drift, what led you to pick up your Museum...
Understanding Engines Part IV - what you should do BEFORE you book in for a tune
Getting your project car running is mad, as Marty found out IN THE LATEST EPISODE. So how do you do that? If you've put an aftermarket ECU in your car, then download the tuning software and watch a few tutorials on how to use it. At bare minimum you should have a look around it to familiarise yourself with it, so you can download a base map and do basic diagnostics on your car once you get it running. You'll also need to do some set-up so the ECU knows what engine it's meant to run. Telling the brain box the...
