If you've seen THE LATEST EPISODE (HERE) the lads have updated the looks of their EK Civic hatch, now the B16A VTEC powerplant is sitting tough in its home. While the new panels aren't bog-laden, dented pieces of filth that had been on the car, they aren't the same metallic Mazda2 Spicy Orange as the back half and this has led to much debate about what colour Marty and MOOG should coat their hatch in.   Reds, greys, blaaaaack, white and 4 million other hues have been discussed, but there was a fascinating fact which popped up in the MCM shed while...

As we go through the process of building cars, and being around people who build cars, lots of stuff gets thrown IN THE BIN. But sometimes we shouldn't throw everything out - old bolts and brackets from different project cars can come in massively handy as the lads found out IN THEIR LATEST EPISODE.  MOOG needed a way to mount the radiator in the front of their B16A-swap EK Civic but the top bracket was missing in the pile of parts that came with their abandoned project purchase. It was the first comprehensive update to the popular Kei-sized truck in 15 years, although the van-based variants got their 10th-gen update in 2004.  Marty's 4x4 tip-truck, known as Keith, has proved itself to be a sick little around-town runabout (SEE: HERE), as well as a proven off-road beast battling MOOG's Jimny (CHECK IT OUT HERE), so it is easy to understand how the Daihatsu light-duty trucks have had a solid fanbase for over 60 years, leading to over 4-million units sold! Daihatsu offered a range of...

Apart from the fresh smell, the epic reliability, and great performance, the best thing about working on new cars is the fact they haven't built up years and years worth of grime and schmutz under them... like the EK Civic the lads are currently hurling spanners at. In the latest episode (CLICK ME!) we see Moog and Marty using a bunch of different products to de-schmutz the B16A they'll be swinging into the engine bay of their Honda but why use specalist sprays? Put simply, while you can clean up a filthy nugget with rags and a bucket of water, sometimes there...
